The short version: MicroBudgetCoach does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data. Everything stays on your device.
MicroBudgetCoach ("the App") is a personal budget tracking application for iOS developed by Ali Emre Bilgic ("we", "us", "our"). Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how the App handles your information.
All data you enter into the App is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage technologies (SwiftData and UserDefaults). This includes:
The App does not:
The App does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or cloud providers. No data is shared with any third party for any purpose. The App contains no third-party SDKs or frameworks that collect user data.
The App operates entirely offline. It makes no network requests of any kind. The AI Coach feature runs fully on-device using built-in algorithms without any API calls or internet connectivity.
The App may send local notifications (budget alerts, bill reminders, daily check-ins) if you grant permission. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification framework and do not involve any external push notification services or servers.
If you choose to attach receipt photos to expenses, the images are stored locally on your device within the App's data container. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with any external service. The App uses Apple's PhotosPicker, which gives you control over which photos the App can access.
The App's home screen widget displays your budget data using a shared on-device data container (App Group). This data is shared only between the App and its widget extension on your device and never leaves your device.
The App provides optional CSV export and JSON backup features. When you use these, files are generated locally on your device and shared only through the iOS share sheet — you have full control over where the exported data goes.
Your data is stored on your device for as long as the App is installed. We do not retain any copy of your data on any server or cloud service. When you delete the App, all associated data is automatically removed from your device by the operating system.
You can delete all your data at any time using the "Start from Scratch" option in the App's Settings. This immediately and permanently removes all expenses, recurring expenses, income records, savings goals, streaks, badges, and preferences. Alternatively, uninstalling the App removes all stored data from your device.
Since all data is stored exclusively on your device and we have no access to it, you have complete control over your information at all times. You can:
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Since no data is transmitted over the internet, there is no risk of data interception during transmission. The App relies on Apple's secure storage frameworks (SwiftData and UserDefaults) for data persistence.
The App does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since no personal data is collected from any user, the App is safe for users of all ages.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Since the App collects no data, significant changes are unlikely. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
